LIGIA AND THE OLYMPIC TORCH

To the 25 years, the amazonense Lígia Silva will have the honor of carrying the Olympic torch in the opening of the Games of Lusofonia, on this Sunday 8. Her and more three athletes (Fredson Gomes, of Cape Verde; Cheung Chin Hin, Macau and Miguel Meira, Portugal) they will carry the torch for the stadium. 

 

For Lígia, the choice is reason a lot of honor for.  

 

I am "very proud with that choice. It is the recognition of my work and of everything that has been done by the Brazilian table tennis", it recognized Lígia. 

 

Among their largest titles, Lígia has the bronze medal in the Pan-American Games of Winnipeg 1999 and current holder of champion's individual Latin-American titles, for team and of mixed couples (with Thiago Monteiro), conquered in March of 2006, in Colombia.
